Competition, rejection, and challenging personas often make our industry fraught. To mitigate the obstacles, we approach work with a foundation of kindness. All who enter The Hive are invited to respect the craft, acknowledge others’ journeys, and contribute to an optimistic atmosphere where every person and path matters.

Our bar of excellence is set intentionally high for the staff, instructors, and guests with whom we partner and for the skills we pledge to impart. We are committed to robust work and transformative training, and our offerings reflect a desire to attract individuals striving to perform exceptionally at a professional level.

We value individual growth and purposeful pacing over shiny results, overnight success, and stardom. We’ll happily celebrate actors’ successes, however. Classes are kept to an intimate size to ensure enrollees experience ample time performing and receive quality attention to the craft - the journey - of acting.

We celebrate varied perspectives and proven approaches but do not prescribe to any one school of thought or methodology. We ask all entering the Hive to do so humbly and with an eagerness to work with and learn from others. We strive for a healthy and happy collective of staff, instructors, and clients in the hope of being valued for our commitment to community.

Our facilitators will represent our city at large, intentionally inclusive of race, gender identity, orientation, and ability. Likewise, we vow to make a concerted effort to foster and attract an all-embracing circle of actors and guest professionals into The Hive, where we evolve and thrive together.
